If we aim to tackle issues such as healthcare, poverty, population control, unemployment, and human rights, there is no more effective starting point than by providing education to underprivileged children. Education not only empowers these children to secure their futures but also nurtures them into responsible citizens, both nationally and globally.
The Right to Education (RTE) Act, enacted in 2010, made education freely available and compulsory for all children aged 6 to 14. However, even a decade after its implementation, many children in the country still face uneven learning opportunities. Socio-economic factors affecting parents and insufficient quality of education in schools continue to be significant barriers preventing numerous children from accessing a proper education.
Under the AVARD banner, our flagship program, Mission Education, continues its mission to empower disadvantaged children through the provision of education, nutrition, and wellness support. This initiative is closely aligned with the New Education Policy (2020) and the Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all).
Mission Education focuses on children aged 3 to 18 who find themselves in challenging situations, including those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, differently-abled children, youngsters affected by disasters, abandoned and street children, as well as those residing in tribal regions, remote villages, and geographically isolated areas
